Fela Kuti - Expensive Shit (50th Anniversary) (Gold Nugget Vinyl)

On Expensive Shit, Fela Kuti tells the story of a failed attempt to jail him for possession in 1974. During a raid on his Kalakuta compound an officer tried to plant a joint on him, and Fela swallowed it. Police then held him for three days waiting for an incriminating sample, but by swapping slop buckets with his cellmates he made sure the test found nothing, and they had to let him go. The B-side is “Water No Get Enemy”.

This 50th anniversary edition is pressed on gold nugget vinyl in a trifold jacket with elements of the original packaging and newly licensed images. It also includes a dossier envelope with a poster, print and newspaper clipping, wrapped in a metallic gold foil band.
